Atelier GF was established in 1990 by Robert Game and Susan Farquhar, with the working premise of a private, collaborative print studio, able to devote full time and resources to work with artists or publishers and create original fine art editions.
Susan and Robert both began their careers in Toronto as artists and printmakers working at the Open Studio. Here they experienced the art of the collaborative printer and developed their technical skills. They were given the opportunity to learn from master printers, work with experienced artists, and earn the status of Master Printers.
With this beginning experience they worked with an international publisher in Toronto to develop and manage as directors the etching and lithography departments. They worked for eight years with many diverse and exciting Canadian, American and European artists.
Atelier GF began in 1990 and over the years developed a good working relationship with Bag One Arts to print John Lennon editions for Yoko Ono. This contact led to working for the Estate of Miles Davis and later Anthony Hopkins.
Their Toronto 2,200 square foot studio in the west end had a 36" x 72" etching press, a large silkscreen set up and a relief press. Atelier GF collaborated with many artists to create an archive of over 335 images by the time they closed in 2013.
NOTE: The images shown here are hand printed original fine art prints and are not reproductions. Most of the images are silk screens or are labeled as etchings, drypoint or relief prints.
