Information
History:
Caroline Benchétrit is a self-taught Canadian sculptor
and painter and more recently the Creator and Producer
of three animated television series currently in a
global commercial phase. Following an MBA and PhD.
Studies in Administration at McGill University, Benchétrit
left a business and academic career to pursue the
arts. Daughter of a painter, her signature style was
first popularized through a series of whimsical life
size ceramic and bronze sculptures and more recently
through a collection of mixed media paintings involving
acrylics and wax on canvas. Benchétrit's work has
been exhibited in over 15 galleries internationally,
over the last ten years.
Statement:
Inspired by a world without rules, I use a narrative
style in my expression where visual and textual allusions
suggest the passionate message behind a seemingly
simple scene. I combine colour and texture to represent
a liberating moment in time. The content is secondary
to the communication of the authentic emotion. If
I have tugged at the untamable spirit of the observer-I
have done my work.
