Technique:
At
the beginning of the Nineties, Jorg Doring starts
in being recognized for its oversize paintings of
comics heroes such as Donald and Mickey Mouse. Since
2000, the artist is interested more particularly in
the technique of serigraphy on canvas without however
giving up painting. His works are carried out on canvas
and consist of an alternate superposition of several
serigraphic impressions applied by hand and painted
again. They offer a variety of colours always reinvented.
The
artist proposes variations of themes in the same time
familiar and carrying dream: the city, and especially
New York and its architectural gigantism, Hollywood,
American icons (Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, Steve
Mc Queen, Audrey Hepburn or lately Ursula Andress),
comics characters or symbols of our consumer society.
