Simeon Posen & Tafelmusik

Liss Gallery is pleased to announce that images from Simeon Posen’s water portfolio, will be presented at Tafelmusik’s upcoming celebration of the 150th anniversary of Canada.

“Visions and Voyages” is Tafelmusik’s contribution to the national activities commemorating the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation in 1867. Tafelmusik has chosen to explore the century between 1663, when Quebec was established by Louis XIV as a royal province of France, and 1763 when North America came under the control of the British crown. Instrumental works, contemporary diaries, letters, archival records, ships’ manifests, religious mission reports provide rich details about life in Canada at this time.

Simeon Posen’s flowing water images will accompany a musical depiction the great Charlevoix earthquake of 1663 which had its epicentre in Trois-Rivières and was felt in much of eastern North America.

The concert takes place at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre, Bloor St. and Spadina Ave., on Wed. Feb. 22, 2017 at 7pm; Thurs. Feb 23, Fri. Feb. 24 and Sat. Feb 25 at 8pm; and Sun. Feb 26 at 3:30pm.
